6 BEACHES YOU MUST SEE IN BERMUDA

A guide to the island's postcard-worthy beaches...

There is something truly breathtaking about Bermuda's beaches, and I think it comes down to its sparkling aqua-, turquoise-, and royal blue-colored waters. While all of the beaches described below are located on the island's south shore, this is by no means a definitive list of Bermuda's best beaches, but more of a list of beaches that are not to be missed when you visit this charming island.

Church Bay Beach
Small, yet beautiful, Church Bay Beach is located in Southampton parish at the base of a small rocky cliff.  Surrounded by coral rocks, this picturesque beach is ideal for snorkeling, lounging, and getting away from the more popular south shore beaches. The beach area is small and mostly disappears during high tide, so make sure to plan your visit during low tide.

How To Get There: Getting here is relatively easy, just take bus #7 (from Hamilton or Dockyard) to Church Bay Park and access the beach via a wooden staircase at the top of the hill.

Warwick Long Bay Beach
Warwick Long Bay is another perfect spot to escape the larger beach crowds on the south shore. It's a larger beach perfect for beach walks, snorkeling, lounging, and accessing secluded coves, like Jobson's Cove. Make sure to climb the large rock outcroppings for beautiful views of Warwick Long Bay Beach and Jobson's Cove.

How To Get There: To get there, take bus #7 (from Hamilton or Dockyard) to Warwick Long Bay Beach; it's accessible via a walk down a short paved road down to a parking lot, which is a couple steps from the beach.

-----

Jobson's Cove
A small picturesque cove nestled between large rock outcroppings, Jobson's Cove is a definite must-see while visiting Bermuda.  From the color of the water to the huge parrot fish swimming in the cove to the postcard-worthy views, there is something magical about this beach. Its mellow waters also make this a great beach for families with small children. Make sure to go early in the morning to avoid crowds.

How To Get There: To get there, take bus #7 (from Hamilton or Dockyard) to Warwick Long Bay Beach and follow the sandy trail to the right to get to Jobson's Cove.

-----

Horseshoe Bay Beach
One of Bermuda's most well-known beaches, Horseshoe Bay Beach is a crescent-shaped beach with pale pink sands and clear blue waters. It's a popular tourist spot, especially during the summer months, and the beach can get very crowded quickly. If you want to avoid the crowded beach but still experience Horseshoe Bay, then head to the left side of the beach and hang out between the large rock outcroppings.

How To Get There: To get there, take bus #7 (from Hamilton or Dockyard) to Horseshoe Road and walk down a hill to the beach.

-----

Stonehole Bay & Chaplin Bay
Stonehole Bay and Chaplin Bay are secluded beaches located between Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe Bay. It's worth hiking up the sandy path for cliff-side views to see the various shades of blue water in the Atlantic.

How To Get There: To get there, take bus #7 (from Hamilton or Dockyard) to the Chaplin Bay bus stand or via the south shore beach trails from either Warwick Long Bay or Horseshoe Bay.
